Default 2011 Sprinter trailer/brake wiring harness

I am looking to add a hitch to my 2011 170" 2500. I am having a hard time identifying the correct harness that will support a brake controller and use the round seven way trailer connection. Anyone familiar?

Default Re: 2011 Sprinter trailer/brake wiring harness

It would have been significantly better to have ordered the factory installed receiver hitch and
factory wiring harness, but it sounds like you are beyond that point now.
There are after market wiring harnesses available, but I'm not sure they are available yet for the
2010 and 2011 NCV3 Sprinters.
The electronic trailer brake controller will need to be added as a seperate unit (even with the factory installed hitch and harness.
All I can add is when you install the electronic brake controller, increase the wire size from the
controller (the blue wire) to the round 7 way connector on the rear of your Sprinter.
I think you will find that the brake controller mfg. suggests at least a #10 AWG wire if you are going with more than one axle brakes on any of your trailers.
There is a new brake controller setup on the market that is "wireless" and does not require
any wiring from the controller to the back of your van. It's pricey.
Here's a link to a thread all about hitches and wiring that may be helpful:
Hope this helps,
