K kendall69 New member Jun 21, 2007 #2 Yes you will get a LOT more silica ( sand) in your oil. I had a vehicle that I did oil analysis on religiously and without the K&N silica was normal, with it silica shot up. took the K&N out and silica went back to normal. T Toyman New member Jun 21, 2007 #3 My experience with the K&N in a 350 Chev. - they are a PITA to clean and oil, AND I noticed no change in performance.
