Leaving campground and slider does not come in correctly . Back had to be helped to close .
Will not open properly now. Back lags behind front . I have read on how to jog and re sync but that is not working . Any ideas? Long way from home and a dealership I hate! Lol

Have read about how others have an obstruction under the slide, scraping the floor. Have you examined below the slide?

I also have a '17 J, and while I have not had the issue you have, mine squeaked like heck until I did the special lube application specified by Winnebago and Limpert. But, the reason I am chiming in here is that while I was working on the slide previously, I noticed that the slide itself did not sit evenly within the opening. Probably because of braking, etc., the slide was farther forward in the opening, leaving a larger gap at the rear. I have always wondered if that gave the rear motor gear and the slide grooved engagement rail too much clearance, and that it may slip at some point. This may or may not have anything to do with your problem, but it may be something to look at. At the very least it is piss poor quality control. There have been so many slide issues--you would think they could get this very important, major piece of the motorhome designed and installed correctly to begin with. Sorry--just another of my rants, but I can't abide by shoddy workmanship, and there are more than a few I have found. Many, I have corrected, as have others here.

Update on slider. After extensive emails with pictures and phone calls to Winni techs, they decided I should tear it apart in a campground in Bluff UT. This insane idea was put on the shelf after no two techs could tell me the same thing twice in a row....

Also found a loose part, for lack of a better description , as a "T" shaped nut, that was identified by Winni tech as the nut that holds on the slider motor.....

Fast forward to the TransWest dealership in Grand Junction CO. TransWest also is the group we bought the rig from in KC so they were able to retrieve all service records. Long story short, that found fastener that was found on top af the rail, was what should have been holding everything together . How did it get there? They did not want to speculate ....but records show the slider had been serviced on MANY occasions . They reattached it and the trip became much brighter.

The rig had been out of warranty for @ 8 mo with only 12500 miles on it. We were handed a bill for $150, which I thought was very reasonable, considering we were there for 3+ hours. Then the warranty person said she did not want our money. She was turning it in to Winni to see if they would pay as it seemed to be known problem with the unit. I can't say enough about the way we were treated at the Grand Juntion site. Above and beyond anything we thought would happen that day. Much better, I'm sorry to say, than we have experienced with warranty at the KC location. So all is good for now, and if you are ever in need of service in western CO do not hesitate to use TransWest Grand Junction. Top shelf group , top to bottom.
