Great news! :) (have to add that clapping emoticon one day).

Soflo316:

Apparently the only way to fix it (for a newbie like myself), is to delete you from the list and have you reregister.

If you can see the pictures now, then nevermind.

Thanks,
Seek

I can see some pictures, but not all, so go ahead and delete me and I'll try again. Thanks

Ok guys I'm lost with the photo uploads
I can enter a photo as a thumbnail click to enlarge
or upload with the forums image! But I can only post a few depending on size then I will have to delete older photo's if I wish to upload a new photo, which is silly because I will destroy the photo in an older topic
Nuts
Whats the trick to up - load on a straight photo
Plain english please or I'll get lost in cyber space technology

Hi Richard:

You can post up to 10 photos per post. If there's more, then you have to start another post.

If your photo is large, vBulletin will resize it to a thumbnail size and people will have to click it to see the full photo. Don Horner in the thread below has supplied a link to a resizer.

http://www.sprinter-source.com/forum...ead.php?t=467&

Also, your 10 photos will add up to a the MAX SIZE allowed for upload. Max size for upload for photos.jpg is 300kb. If each photo.jpg is 50kb large, you can only upload 5 (total for 5x50mb=250kb). You would think 6, but you're pretty much at the limit of 300kb. You will have to start another post to include the remaining 5 photos.

Your 372kb photo that you just posted is too large in file size and picture size. I'm surprised vBulletin let you upload that pic.

Does this answer your question?

Thanks,
Seek

...and smilies count as pictures!

Here's my picture question/rant:

What exactly is the largest size picture that can be posted WITHOUT screwing up the entire thread? Although I love to see everyones photos, it bugs me when a pictures' size makes it so you need to scroll left to right to read the text, and or see who wrote the post. Perhaps it is on my end. this should be a forum setting, pic is too big, it does not display.

I agree, it irks me too. It takes much more effort to read a post.

Right now there's no limit to the pixel size of the picture. The best size is 640x480. We could limit it to 640x480 and have vBulletin place it as a thumbnail if something is bigger, but that takes a lot of processing power and sometimes it may not even work.

Or we could just limit it to 640x480 and if it's bigger, the upload fails.

Shall we implement this?

Thanks,
Seek

Hi Guys
Thanks for the info! I think I have it right please advise ????
ten photos smileys per post no more limit at the uper-end of the scale.
OK, but if I go to another thread the 10 photos become available again untill I reach the max file size on that thread?
IS this right? or am I getting it wrong, sorry if I am ! but heck, we live down under, so the blood is thin when you walk around in the air all day

The clickable thumbprint photo below is image shack
this saves the server bandwidth and you can place as many as you wish on the same thread, as persay this thread.
There is a method of wraping url tags around the photo for it to appear in a compleate 640 by 480! But I can't work it out.
Is any one good enough to drop into image shack and work it out?
there are other free image format providers that will do this too.
if some one can work this one out it will solve the frustration some of us have, and also save the server bandwidth
Richard
for example this one photo of image shack does not show the image size or size of file
Hey gang this is the mystery monkey bearing that would solve the shakes, vibration, on the long wheel base Sprinter

As one can see there are many options
the one advantage of image shack is you click the photo which allows for a full resolution click again on the image shack resolution photo and it will show a full screen shot, most of the time.

Howdy Seek & others -

On your question concerning limiting picture dimensions: my vote is to not add a dimensions limit.

640x480 is likely a common good file size for many but can not be guaranteed for all. Some folks will be able to display only smaller images without suffering from having to scroll right, others will be able to display even larger images than 640x480 with no need to scroll based on their display capabilities. This is a fact of life on the web and it makes web developers jump thru hoops as they are developing web pages in order to try to make pages work well / look good for the majority of folks.

It is easy to forget that not everyone sees a given web page in exactly the same way. Many browser options and window sizes make this so. Try clicking on the "Restore Down" button in the upper right hand corner of your browser window (depending on what browser you are using) in between the "Minimize" and "Close" ("X") buttons as an experiment.

I am a culprit (http://www.sprinter-source.com/forum...read.php?t=511) in posting some images that are too wide. I apologize and should have probably shrunk my Sprinter-Forum browser window before I did my screen captures.
