Default Storage Trunk

We are trying to decide on weather to buy a Platform type Bike Rack and a pair of 26 inch Bikes or a Hitch Mounted Storage Trunk to store 2 Folding Bikes. We don't particularly like to look of 2 Bikes hanging off the back of our Pleasure Way Plateau XL, but could live with if we had to. On the other hand the look of a Storage Trunk isn't much better, but at least you get additional storage space for other items and maybe better security.
Please give us your experience, especially on Folding Bikes vs normal size Bikes and Bike Racks vs Storage Trunks, i.e. Pros/Cons.

We have ordered two Folding Bikes to take with us in our PW, they fold up to the size of two medium size suitcase. The original plan was to store them in a Cargo Box attached to the Hitch Receiver, along with other gear. Instead we plan on storing them in the Shower while driving, if this doesn't work out we will use the Cargo Box.

Our plan to temporarily store our 2 Folding Bikes, inside the Shower Stall, of our PleasureWay wasn't a good idea, certainly not worthy of a MB/PleasureWay! We now are going to use the "Stowaway-2 Max" rear mounted trunk.
The plan now includes the installation of a "Roadmaster," Spare Tire Carrier mounted to the Rear Hitch and the Stowaway-2 attached to the Tire Carrier. I found a used Stowaway on CL for $300.00, normally $7-800.00.
