True. But, pre-2019, one could purchase a Sprinter Worker, with high roof, cruise control, and the basic features I'm interested in, for under $35k. And I like the color white. So for around $75k you'd hypothetically get a very unique 4wd, new wheels, nice fender flares, and it could actually drive over a speed bump.

Not that any of that's possible, but for $40k, it would interest me. Not so much for $80k.

Oh well.

I see where you're coming from now . . . I'm from old school I guess!

It's definitely a nice kit - the only real downside to the conversion is you would void your entire 3 year drive train warranty on your new Benz.

While it appears to be a great option for the owner who needs to convert his existing 2 wd, the 29K cost represents a major investment which I feel might limit your customer base as 4x4's become more common and available as the 20's are released.

Thanks for sharing the info and images.

Good luck getting a 4x4 tho.

They are NEVER common.

Brand new member- my local dealer just told me that he gets one 4x4 build slot, likely in August. Which another customer already has taken. Said he can't even enter a fully detailed order for quite a while until his build slot opens up. Is this what others are hearing in Feb? First 4X4's shipping to custom order starting Fall 2019? - Thanks (Hate to think of a 2 wheel drive Sprinter given the amount of skiing I do...)

I got tired of the run around from Mercedes. I ordered a Transit with the Quigley 4x4. It’s 11k cheaper, a true 50/50 4x4, and it will be done by July. The Quigley guys were super helpful as was my local Ford dealer. I just didn’t like then uncertainty of what I was hearing from Mercedes, I wanted a sure thing.

I have a deposit down for a 4x4 as well (Canada) and my dealer says the soonest I can take delivery will be towards the end of the year for a 2020 model. I am ok with that because this will hopefully give some time for the aftermarket to come up with VS30 parts.

If I were in the market for a 4x4 van, I think the Quadvan or Quigley Transit is the way to go.

Wow...$11k less for a true 4x4 Transit compared to a MB Sprinter. Definitely worth looking at. Quadvan or Quigley?..That is the big question?. Yea...I don’t like the uncertainty I’m hearing from the MB dealers in my area as well on 4x4’s. They want a $5000 deposit down on an order that may get built this year. No Thanks.......I need a confirmed order.

I have a friend who has a Quad Van conversion on his long tail Transit and it is nice. However, he is limited to a 245/75/16 tire unless he spends a lot more money in after market suspension upgrades. He also paid about $6000.00 more than I did for my fully loaded 4x4 cargo van. I like his Transit, but I’ll take my Sprinter over it. Just my opinion.
