Default Always pays --Snappy & Fluke Investigates

To get another estimate.
Case number:- 20103
Vehicle 2015 Jeep Grand Cherokee
Engine V6
A bit like a MB CD16 engine but a bit different.
Symptom
Runs but cuts out and goes into limp no turbo boost.
Jeep Dealer estimate to fix $12,600.
Needs engine out, new turbo, exhaust system replace Cat plugged, heads off for a de-coke.

Snappy & Fluke
Investigators said NO!
Needs a Lamda sensor stuck showing 1750 F when engine showing stone cold.
Engine oil cooler is showing zero to 720 F engine cold.
When you can get it running & go over a bump and it will cut out .
Snappy say install a new Lambda sensor, and Fluke says check the harness.
Snappy beat Fluke to the draw harness was OK ! This guy was squeakily clean & not corrupt
Meantime Fluke went to work on the oil cooler sensor harness down a narrow dark alley --Should be working for Sherlock Holmes on this one and getting paid in pound notes!!!

Harness is burnt and rubbing on the chassis & cooler and more investigation he found the oil cooler sensor was burnt to a crisp. His sensor talk was from the grave in ghostly figures.
Snappy gave it the all clear and exorcised it getting rid of any unwanted poltergeists.

The Jeep then ran really well but was having a big problem keeping up with a guy called Sprinter (who's he? asked Snappy with an investigators inquiring look on his face) but at least he's not losing his cool. Gotta be one of those cool Euro classy types with a designer suit.

In the end over a beer Snappy & Fluke chatted about their days work.
You know that that Jeep guy even though he had a flashy white exterior with all the leather supposed hand crafted furniture really needed to take a shower every so often and clean his vitals. Guy got all bent out of shape because he simply wouldn't take a shower so he got really hot, lost his cool, got under the collar and melted his vitals--Yeh must have been some hot cougar he met someplace!--so who's gonna clean him then? YOU?
Nah I wouldn't clean him with your dongling hands mate !!

I'll pass him off to some experts in that department, its not our line of work! Remember we don't slum it we are Snappy and Fluke the Good Guys.
Yeh and we don't get paid enough nor given the accolades !
But we did save him from that guy who promised him an expensive hair cut and a fix up & how much was our fee for all that?
Fluke blurted out not quite 1500 bucks!
Yah know we are in the wrong part of town Snappy, we should be uptown where the big bucks are & Starbucks hangs out
What have we got tomorrow?--Dunno maybe some hot Italian chick Flukie !
Be careful you don't get too hot rummaging around with your probes.
Phew you should be so lucky ! Wanna another beer ! Yeh lets try an import!
Its all in a days work for Snappy & Fluke the motor city investigators. They never let up solving complex problems

Yes, but:

Lamda sensor stuck showing 1750 F when engine showing stone cold.
Engine oil cooler is showing zero to 720 F engine cold.

Verifying rational sensor outputs is a basic troubleshooting step. The Jeep shop should have caught this before declaring the need for $12,000+ worth of work.
