Default Suggestions for direct replacement wiper blades

I picked up some Rainex wiper blades at the nearby Walmart today,...but they would not securely click onto the wiper arms,...so returned them. figured I should search and or inquire here before buying more non fitting blades.

Any suggestions? I don't have a wholesale club nearby,...so, Walmart, is the closest, then I have a Napa and OReilley's about a 25 mile round trip drive away Or,.....Amazon.

Bosch, Goodyear, Rainex, Anco??

Othing spécial about the wipers!you just need universal style wipers that fit the wiper arm ends. I can’t remember what the arm ends are (U hook I think) but if you look at the packages, and the van’s wiper arms it will be clear which fit.

That's what I thought when I bought the Rainex blades, but they would not lock on the arms securely.

We've had issues with standard wipers staying on as well. Usuall do some "precision engineering" with pliers.

The wipers from Costco have been horrible. Still go for the hot dogs...

I've had good luck with TRICO Exact Fit, which is one brand my local super market carries. The more modern "beam" style doesn't seem to work well on the van.

I also fall into the "whatever they had (next-to-lowest price level) fit without problems" category.

The first time i replaced one was at a NAPA store, but usually i end up with a Trico (i'm surprised that the two currently on the Sprinter don't have a brand name etched in the metal).

I'm also one of the "use 21 inch on both sides" crowd, which allows carrying only one spare.

You know, I just noticed that europarts-sd says the longer wiper arm is for the passenger side and shorter for driver side. However, the 2006 service manual says
Quote:
The wiper arms for this model are unequal in length, with the longer arm being installed on the left (driver) side of the windshield.
I first started wondering about this when I replaced the wiper blades the first time after purchasing the van. I bought the correctly sized blades, but the passenger side one just barely went off the wind shield and touched the metal (which consequently wore off the paint...). Since this van has had the wind shield replaced at least once (with another replacement due this month after the POR-15 + bondo treatment...), I always just assumed the previous owners installed the arms in the wrong spots. I've found a lot of things the previous owner installed incorrectly. I guess maybe just this once I can't blame the previous owner 100% if he was basing his info on europarts.

Anyway, maybe this is why there's a "21 inch on both sides" crowd? I had resorted to using 21 in on the passenger side to compensate for the misinstalled arms.

The "exceeds the windshield" was definitely a factor in my choice.

The original passenger blade ripped off its damaged tip, so i intentionally (first auto parts store found) bought a shorter blade.
