Default Re: Anyone fit 285/70/17s on their 4x4?

I got a lot more than a little rub with 285'/70r17. I got a little rub while turning with no wheel travel and quite a bit at 50% lock and any amount of bump travel. I didnt do any trimming, I simply got a heat gun out and re-shaped the plastics a bit.'

Re-shaped plastics; the bumper edge got heated and rolled in from the bottom about 5 inches up. The wheel well liners got massaged back about 1.25-1.5 inches in the center and progressively less moving inward and outward.

Thats a great idea OffroadHamster, I think I will follow and do some heating and reshaping myself. Thanks for the tip.

Took it out camping and did some mild off roading last weekend. I do get a slight rub, but only at full turn while hitting a bump or dip. Will likely do some very minor trimming.

Kirk. Could you please tell me what lug bolts you used?

We're planning to use the 16.00R20 Michelin ZXL on a Mercedes-Benz 4x4. They're 53" tall and are "G" speed-rated up to 55 mph.

Not a 4x4 but I have slight rubbing with my 245/75/R16 K2's on full lock either side, slightly rubs on the metal sub-frame.

Method Standard has the proper offset on 17" wheels.
265/70R17 Sprinter engineering approved.
285 is likely to rub with wheels turned. Could be on struts, springs, fenders, etc.

285/75-17 on black rhino York’s

They barely touch front and rear inner liner. Will heat gun them, simple.

No touch on struts.
