I wonder if they will bring all three drivetrains over? They could sell a lot of the 4wd version.

I'd rather have a SWB sprinter.

I will be in line to place a deposit when the ordering starts, my full-size sprinter will continue life in our fleet as I am cutting back on work, i will just be doing more management and sales. this will still give me some light hauling ability and a more comfortable mobile experience, it should work great for me.
I hope the owner of the site adds a sub-forum for them

No thanks MB! Only a rear wheel driven gasoline engine for North America....?!

I realize this thing will be great for fair weather urban use, but a td4 and AWD would make it so much more viable for those of us who actually go off into the sunset regularly. With gasoline and only 18gallon fuel tank it won't even have a great fuel range. I'd want a van like this to roll from Seattle to Bozeman on one tank ;)

Seeing many of these in the UK and Europe right now, not too impressed, thought they were dodge caravans for a while ,they look very similar .

Also coming to Canada is this shorter/smaller version of a MB VAN ,
lowest possible cost out the door to me starts @ $46,000 with taxes, shipping, fees , up to $65,000 loaded, Although they list it as $33.9k

Compared to the honda, which is the same cargo length etc… there is no comparison, look at specs, performance, MPG etc…, why would anyone buy one?

For pure carrying capacity Metris has much higher payload - 2500 lbs vs Honda's 1350 lbs. It's well suited as a commercial van in between the Nissan/Transit Connect microvans and a Sprinter.

But for a passenger van you're right, it would be tough to beat the Honda Odyssey or Toyota Sienna.

Some people, like me, prefer the Mercedes ownership experience. I will never buy a Toyota and only a Honda if there isn't a Mercedes alternative. Even then I'd more likely go with an American brand.

I do hope no one buys the Metris though, so I can get a deep discount on it! :)
