Default Re: ASSYST OIL LEVEL ACCURACY

I was wondering why they have so much oil in the crankcase, (like three times the volume in my 2.0 l VW TDI diesel.)

and for the record, I tried to keep it it in the middle of the acceptable range on the oil indicator stick.

One benefit of high oil volume is heat dissipation. Another, to suspend solids not removed by oil filter. Dennis talked about the effects of carbon scour and of many reasons, I change the oil-two-times a year regardless of miles. Especially, now with Bio-20 becoming more prominent. IDK, thinking of ordering a 2020 gasser, I see no benefit of owning a diesel, except for a tractor.
