Default Has Ford agreed to build 2020 Transits for Amazon?

These appear to be Amazon Grey Transits, in a holding lot just north of Ford's Kansas City production facility. These might be AWD. Picture taken on September 25th.

Has Daimler dropped the ball on Bezos' big order?

Not in Amazon Grey but I already had deliveries in Promasters, Transits and amazon employee's personal cars.

May not matter if Amazon doesn't get their act together and get more efficient in their delivery program. I buy from Amazon and have a UPS Store like address and occasionally will ship to my customers. Even though I give delivery instructions with business hours they continue to attempt deliveries after hours or even to a wrong address. I have missed several key deliveries so far. Seems to have worked so far when I have delivered to my home address that is not in maps yet. I have detailed instructions to get to my house and they find it sometimes after they call me. If they would give their drivers a designated route they would be familiar with business hours and addresses like mine but one driver told me she has not been to the same area twice yet. Her distribution center covers a territory greater than south metro Atlanta and she may go up to 50 miles away from the hub in any direction on a given day.

This is Amazon's recently announced plan:

AmazonRivian.jpg

Ford has invested a bunch of money in Rivian, so i suspect there is a swing in that direction.

They’ve made plenty of 2019s for Amazon. I would assume they will make some 2020s.

Don’t think 2020 production has started but I’m no expert.

The European switch-over time is in August, with Sept being the next model year.
That doesn't mean the US plant will follow that schedule.

I wonder what engines are in all those Transits. You know Amazon is going to want all those 2020 2.1 diesels.
The EV's look like my toaster. It will be a good surge surge on the electrical grid when Amazon plugs 100,000 EV's for charging at night,
