Windows from Van Windows Direct. These are EU e1 certified for EU road use. EU requirements are arguably more stringent that U.S. in most cases. Install by Action Auto Glass 641 SE Mill St, Portland, OR
(Requires an overnight) ask for Jimmie Woods 503-230-1600. He made the whole process easy. Will update after I get some miles on them. The fret (black band) is wider so there is some clear glass loss. Over the shoulder driver view - driver side not too bad, over the shoulder driver to slider, some blind spot loss. Been waiting a long time to do this. Dogs gonna be happy... |

1st update. No problems with the slight loss of clear glass. They do rattle a bit when open. It’s in the nature of the design (rattle is in the top track). Not unbearable (lots of things making noise and the wind noise is louder) but if you are the kind of person who hates rattles...a small foam wedge tucked between the two panes should take care of it.

![]() ![]() ![]() Windows are great, couldn’t be happier. Window rattles are hardly noticeable especially once I learned to lock the windows open, certainly and no more than on several cars I have owned. But in the interest of science and for anyone who is considering them.....a small bit of very low density closed cell foam tucked in and what little rattle there is, gets handled. The foam can be tucked anywhere along the edge. |

No provision for a screen in the basic design. Asking one of the sun shade companies if they could make a magnetic screen (swapping sun shade material for screen material) seems like the easiest solution.

That's what I was thinking too. I just contacted Sue from RippleWear (rt1rac) about some covers for the new windows, so maybe I'll see if she can come up with something clever.
Thanks!

Bit of a dead thread but how do those AMA windows deal with rain?
The slider is inside the window so rain would hit the bottom lip of the slider and go where? Is there a seal or a gutter? This is for most in my mind looking at windows and living in Seattle. Winters here are a constant drizzle for days at a time. |

Can’t say for the recessed windows but for my flush windows there is a drain built in. No problems so far in the PNW.
