Default Chicago -Lincoln Park - high roof clearance snags

Anyone know of a map app, which would allow us to navigate a high roof in the Lincoln Park and Loop neighborhoods and avoid low hanging bridges and height restricted streets?

I have seen a GPS unit for truckers that showed bridge clearance dimensions. Haven't seen it as an app for a phone yet...

Allstays Camp and RV app will help. It doesn't let you enter a location and then give you directions such as Google Maps, but you can zoom in on locations and see where low clearances are, so you could theoretically map out your route before leaving. It will also track your location if you give it location permission, so you could have a passenger direct as you drive. I cannot promise that they list every single low clearance in the city, so you're still going to want to use your eyes and judgement. I just looked at Chicago on the Allstays app and there are a ton of low clearances listed, I'm guessing mostly around the EL Tracks. Some are as low as 9' although most are 13-14'. You can filter out what you want the app to show on the map, so you can actually select it to show only low clearances(not that there are any campsites in Chicago). You can actually select any height from 7-15' individually in 1' increments. So say your van is 10' tall, you can set the filter to only show 7', 8', 9, 10, and 11' low clearances. Then that way the map isn't jumbled up with all the extra 12-15' clearances so it'd be slightly easier for the navigator.

Great ideas. A few years ago, we found ourselves an eight-footer in Chicago. Better yet, on a one-way street. Hadn't had so much fun since the Taconic State and Saw Mill River Parkways

I had a similar incident at the airport in Las Vegas. Was picking someone up and there is no way to do that in a high clearance non commercial vehicle. Luckily, they have some sort of detection system set up and it alerted me to what was coming, and I was able to pull off into a bus pickup area.
