Default Broken Side Mirror bracket

My passenger side rear view mirror is broken so that it does not stay in place. The arm is loose/floppy. The part number stamped on it is 010384, E1 MEKRA. Is MEKRA the brand on all of the Westy vans? I have not been able to find a replacement for it. If not MEKRA, is there another brand suggestion? If it can be fixed I will be happy, but don't know how to tackle that.

A. Types of Side Mirrors

There are several side mirror types. We have the molded plastic version versus the standard and extended length metal arms. There is also a fourth option.

Think most if not all Westies came with the molded plastic arms but saw a photo of ome Westy with metal arm--presumably a repair.

B. Repair and Adjustments

There are several threads on how to repair. Am posting them here as folks have different ways of describing and doing things.

C. Replacements

Here is a manual replacement one (we have an electrical motor one).

I don't know if you can transfer the electric motor. Europarts-SD.com does sell the motor separately.

If you can search the parts manual or just contact a dealer with your VIN for an original part.

Please post whatever you find or do. Thanks.
