Default Outside Storage Ideas?

Hi! Anyone have thoughts on outside storage ideas? Hitch mounted boxes, boxes on top with a ladder? Other creative ideas???

Here is a black hose storage compartment pre-prototype. It is 31"long x 14"wide x 6" tapering down to 4"deep. It works pretty good for a mock up so I have ordered some 1/8" aluminum and will make a real prototype this weekend.

This is my macerator dump/black hose. It is 7' long, but expands to almost 30'. I wanted a spot outside the van to store it along with the other sewer adapter pieces. Under the rear step seemed like the most logical place. Shown above is the 'box' hanging from it's hinges.

The hinge is a bolt that is threaded into a 'T'bar that slides into this Bosch Structural aluminum profile, one on each side.

This allows the box to slide out for easy access

and back in for a clean look. Here you can see the aluminum extrusion. It is taped with that super high bond tape to the bumper/step support.

This is the rear view. When I get the prototype welded up and painted black, it will blend in nicely. I am still searching for a latch that can be hidden up under the step that will lock the box in the stowed position.

I don't think I will have to stretch the hose out this far too often. This retractable hose and storage box combo is much easier for me fabricate and fit under the van than a 30' hose reel.

The 'box' is located where it is because the macerator is right there.

Here is the short run from the macerator to the 'box'. I will put the fabricated aluminum box and how it all finally went together on my conversion write up.
