Default Replacing factory window with CRL

I recently replaced my driver side window with a crl vented window. Install was relatively straight forward, albeit tedious. My buddy paid a local company to do his install. I noticed they placed what appears to be a vinyl wrap of some sort underneath the "vent flaps" to hide the ugly left over adhesive that seems impossible to remove. This makes it look super clean and while not perfectly color matched to the body, seeing as how it's only partially visible and nearly always shaded, it's difficult to tell that it's not perfect.

I wanted to figure out what exactly they used or if they would do the same for my van. Called the place and they don't do window work anymore nor could they even understand what I was trying to describe (slight language barrier.)

Has anyone done anything similar with good results? If so, how and with what?
