Default $23 Turbo Resonator Eliminator, has anyone tried it?

I'm not endorsing this seller or this part at all, buy at your own discretion, just found it interesting and thought I would share it.

SprinterStore charges $179.95 $99.95 for the same part, and I'm not sure which part is a replica of which, but this looks pretty similar.

Went ahead and purchased it because why not? I'll post a picture of it when it arrives. Still looking into the benefits of eliminating the turbo resonator before it begins leaking.

I bought the cheap one from eBay. Quick install and great piece of mind knowing this Problem has been solved or prevented.

I would not be surprised if it is the same as the eBay ones. Let me know how it is and I will probably order one from China also. Thanks.

Before the inexpensive and reliable Dorman replacement resonator was available getting the resonator delete made sense. Now, I don’t get why a resonator delete makes sense. Why make an engine louder without performance/reliability gain?

For that low a price perhaps just keeping one in the van while traveling- just in case a failure. Although I think the Dorman one is not that much more?
The resonator does help with the turbo ‘whine’.

As a mechanic told me after he installed the Riodanco resonator 8 years ago when I drove off and returned after hearing a new high pitch sound, you just went with a straight pipe resonator, that what you get. haha

Dorman's were not on the market at that time and all we all had were the MB plastic models that were known to fail. I got used to the whine and with sound proofing added all over the front cab area, it is considerably less noticeable and has never failed. How could it?

We now have more choices which is always good thing. A one time fix is invaluable.

Quick question about this, is the Dorman resonator better than the OEM MB?

Here's what the plastic resonators look like:

Here's how they differ:

Exactly, at that price it's worth having in your van incase the Resonator goes and you're stuck in limp mode. Would be stuck buying a new turbo resonator for over twice the cost.

Personally, I love hearing turbo noises too
