Default Biggest Westyfest West ever?

The Westyfest West on the next week will likely be the biggest ever.
(see https://sprinter-source.com/forum/sh...ad.php?t=75467 )

More than 10 vans will come. Here is a list of the attendees so far:

Westies
Rob (the host)
Danny & Phan
Hen Min & Arlene
Don
Mike Chang
Steve
Uri

devandalised Westies (aka James Cook)
Vince

Other vans
Juju (Hymer Aktiv)
Michael & Tracey (Hymer Aktiv)
Nic (CS Sprinter 4x4)
Dick & Jo
Peter & Barbara (James Cook)

Did I miss anybody?

Can't wait to see you all
Peter

I want to lodge a complaint to Mr. James Cook. I have a James Cook, not Westy. Further, there is nearly no Airstream "upfitting" left.

I corrected my list. Did I get it right?

Well, there are a few things Autocamp may enjoy about his Airstream Westfalia versus a James Cook:

(1) higher weight rating of a Dodge Sprinter versus Mercedes Sprinter (was anything really changed other than weight stickers?),

(2) higher clearance of a Dodge Sprinter with front frame spacer, different rear leaf springs, different original struts and shock absorbers?, and 16" wheels, and

(3) a speedometer which reads in miles per hour (and odometer in miles).

Pool is 86 degrees today! Weather forecast says 90 Friday and cooler on the weekend low 80's.

I am aware of the European James Cooks have 15" wheels so they have two-pot front calipers. I am however not aware of the suspension differences. What are the specifics as well as weight rating?

Weight Ratings:

European Sprinters of same vintage are rated at 3.5t versus our 8550 lbs. See third post in this thread with tire pressure label and 3.5t.

http://forum.james-cook-freunde.de/v...hp?f=16&t=6653

And this thread discusses getting the weight under 3.5t.

http://forum.james-cook-freunde.de/v...hp?f=16&t=6651

3.5t in metric is 7716 pounds.

I had the European JC catalog in another computer that I don't like to dig out. But it is in your tread over at JC Friend here. It is 3.880 kg gross weight, which is 8,554 lbs just like ours.

"3.880 kg zulässiges Gesamtgewicht (ablastbar auf 3.500 kg)"

It would be a real bummer if any less. With carefully planning I can tow a car trailer for most reasonably weight high performance car, with just 5000 lb towing capacity and 500 lb tongue weight.

I am aware our JC has HD springs at the back but I am under the impression it was designed in by Westfalia due to how much the MH weighs and Westfalia engineers were very cleaver to stay away from going to the dually. In exchange for max interior useable space the penalty is sensitive to crosswind and requires one drives with sound judgement and care.
