Default Shower Pan for Cassette Toilet

http://www.ermel-freizeitmobile.de/aktuelles/

Think this German repair shop is saying it has obtained and now sells a shower pan for T1N bathrooms with cassette toilet. May be expensive to ship to U.S.

And a roof repair or replacement. Can't get Google to translate so don't know if they patched or obtained a whole new roof.

Too late for AutoCamp and others who rebuilt their Westies with a Thetford cassette toilet, but the James Cook Friends Forum has a thread on the shower pan (DIFFERENT than our NAFTA Westies).

Can't wait to see the proposed metal replacement.

Note that our drainpipe is also different although location may or may not be the same.

AutoCamp and others chiseled out the raised NAFTA Bravura toilet riser portion while RobertFoster (for a composting toilet) and others just made a platform on top.

And poster Ciril took detailed measurements. PDF is below.

There is a photo of the stainless steel? Metal shower pan for a cassette toilet in the first post of this James Cook Friends Forum thread. Looks really nice. Another poster suggests it came from eBay but need more info.

On the eBay listing, there are three photographs: (a) the dimensions of the fiberglass type shower pan provided by Ciril, (b) photograph of the stainless steel drain with dimensions and (c).cross-section dimensions of the drain.

You may want to copy the photographs before they disappear.

Don't know how to interpret the dimensions of the stainless steel drain. It seems a lot smaller than ours and the cross-section dimensions are confusing (likely for a small cup-type drain but numbers for height or depth of 35mm and a flange width of 20mm seem weird???).

The eBay listing seems inconsistent re 15mm versus 20mm edges?

Anyways, the James Cook drain may be smaller and different than for our NAFTA version. Location may or may not be in the same position.

K320 is type of stainless steel finish. It's apparently the most common finish.

304 is the type of stainless steel. Again, a common type.

1.4301 and V2A are apparently other names for 304.

Nrio means ???

Check James Cook Friends Forum for more info on stainless steel shower pan. Key is that third photograph in eBay listing is not appicable. Also, can go 670mm wide, 810mm long, and 50mm high (external dimensions) with 65mm including drain dip.

Looks very nice. Couple of questions.

1. Rather than 670mm wide, description says 668mm wide. Is this to allow for expansion and contraction?

2. Top lip flange is described as either 15mm or 20mm?

3. What is height of sides? Third photograph seems to suggest 34mm high but shower hose thread photograph looks higher.

4. In shower hose thread, you indicated you got the wrong size drain and had to cut away some portion? But shower pan was right?

5. Did you use anything to stick pan down?

Thanks!

1. The seller recommended to order the pan some mm smaller, to make sure that it fits. But the description is wrong, I wanted to have it 1mm smaller each side (809mmx669mm). But it is not necessary, you can order it in 810mmx670mm)
2. I did not measure it, bit I think it is 15mm.
3. The third photograph is some random drawing from the seller, it is a mistake. As I said in the shower hose thread, I ordered the wrong height. I ordered 65mm, but if you look at the drawing from Ciril(first picture in ebay), 65mm is the height including the shower drain. 50mm is the right height,
4. See answer 3. The shower pan needs to be pushed under the toilet (it overlaps 10mm), this was not possible because the height of my new pan is 65mm instead of 50mm.
5. I used some random indoor glue from the DIY store and put some water boxes over night in the pan.

You are right, 1.4301 and V2A are german names for 304.

This is a great development, especially for the poorly designed Euro pan (no side supports). A few thoughts:

- From what I can see, the drain is in the right location. If anything, the hole in the floor for our drain might be bigger than the Euro hole (larger drain) so there is more tolerance of a difference in position. And really, if you're doing this kind of surgery, moving the hole if necessary is no big deal.

- The steel will be cold and slippery. Using some sort of mat would be essential.

- Again, the biggest challenge for US people is shipping. Depending on the airline, this thing may incur an oversize baggage fee. Honestly, flying over and making a trip out of it might well be the most affordable option!

After reading volumes about the shower pan mods, I decided to skip all that and just use the existing pan, with no modifications to the drain or anything.

Here's my setup. See attachment, I can't figure out how to insert pics in-line.
The cassette toilet is wall-to-wall exactly, it basically sits on the edges of the pan.
