Maybe you should offer to pay someone to take over your contract?

So only thing the buyer will get is a faster delivery. The buyer would need the list of options ordered to see if they are close to what they wanted.

The other information the buyer would need is the sales price. Maybe "aander" is not a very good negotiator and agreed to a too high sales price or he was a good negotiator and bought the van at a attractive discount.

Nothing to do with it being a Sprinter which I am guessing you were fishing for.

Interesting..... I thought there were laws governing deposits whereby a person was able to back out of a purchase and not forfeit a deposit.

The way I see it, the OP is in a perishable pickle. The closer the deadline to ink the contract, the more motivated (desperate) to discount da price. About half of the current asking price is paying for moving-up in the waiting line.

On the other hand, most people get emotional about vehicle purchases, and may very well not be concerned with paying the premium. In real estate there is a saying, "There's a buyer for every property." Same for automobiles.

This to me is like saying:

Iíve been told by my fishing guide that I will get a fish on the line in a few months. I will sell my right to hold my pole. You will receive rights to hold my pole and the fish that will inevitably bite the line.

Fine print: There have been many other fishermen in my exact place that have not landed a fish even though they have been holding their poles since 2017.

I would love to buy a 4x4 Sprinter HR Cargo but not in these circumstances. I must say I appreciate the blatantly honest capitalism though. Supply and demand at its finest. Someone will go for it or likely already has.

Who is he who plants a tree?

Who knows until one tries to nogotiate a price. Clearly, at some point, the seller must commit to taking delivery or lose $2,500.00.

...unless there's someone out there who hasn't ordered yet and would love to get a new one in a couple of months as long as the options are close.

I would think SOMEone would be interested in his offer...albeit at a little bit better price of course and given the deal with the dealer was a good one.
