4> What has Su-Si (Super Single Rear Wheel) got to do with this conversation?

thats what i was wondering

everyone knows i dont own a sprinter, but i also dont think richard owns one either. hes got 100's of pics, but hes also got 100's of pics of everything else.
kinda weird.

evertything you seem to know about the sprinter, why dont you service and repair it yourself???

Thanks Mobil
Waited until you changed your original post.
1995 to 2000... 2003 to 2006. 2006 onwards changes in the system of advanced diagnostics
Nothing is for free..Then again I don't own a Sprinter or two.
That's been out since 2007..... NO
DAS (Custom).jpg
In my exclusionary world of options. NO Owner is restricted to any vehicle manufacturer: Quote Franchisee to perform warranty or service, in Australia.
I go where it suites me, this is my right of choice, as to alternative options. cost or convenience and or location..Example Katherine Northern territory. There are no dealerships. within Ko'eee of five thousand square Kilometers No problems servicing there, if you know how
I have no problems with Mercedes-Benz at all.IN fact head office has been, and gone out of it's way to Help, especially with the electronics.
However:If I chose to go to GM, to service My old Tin "the one I do Not Own" then that is my right! As to Freightliner having identical access to database, all I have to do is slip them the data discs.
Then again I Don't think Richard, owns a Sprinter either.
End of conversation.
Non sprinter owner.

my point is Richard that if you know it why not service it yourself????
in my opinion you can talk the talk, but you cant walk the walk.
youre good at cut n paste, ill give you that. I never seen anyone post more off the wall pics then you. such as the orange wheel. what the heck did that have to do with a Tasmanian dealer? nothing at all.
Guru was up on you.

you remind me of the book reader, not the hands on.

I too can take pics of my diagnostic tools.

Richard youre the one that said...
In fairness to your question The Old tin never required a service until after warranty expired I used a Euro schedule, Not Australian. My Mechanic Is a Benz mechanic and is cheaper, Not that is a problem! I only want the best.
Performance is OK I said I have trust 100% don't take it the wrong way, but time frames for service, drop it off and come back at the end of the day... is not on for a commercial vehicle I can get a loner, from other outlets not from Benz. BUT I NEVER REQUIRED IT AS TO 100% PERCENT RELIABILITY. {THE PERFECT SPRINTER}
Eastern shore does not service Sprinters., they don't have a trained-certified Mercedes-Sprinter Mechanic. They service sedans.
Joke it would be silly to post a not so Su-Si on the Aus post section.the wheel don't fit.

Altered,

If you can just answer my questions rather than just change the subject again, my concern is that you act lke you are the fountain of knowledge and you give people on the forum advise that just isn't true.

1, What is a data disc?
2, What do you mean by head office looking after you regarding electronic?

You are 100% correct, if you dicide that your not bothered whether a Mercedes-Benz trained technician repairs or services your vehicle then you can take it anywhere even Holden but just because the repairer has access to to a DRB it doesnt mean they know how to fix it. The DRB mearly points you in the right direction.

All I ask is that before you write anything make sure that you haven't just made it up, like I have said before there is always someone who know more than you and in this case its me - Trust me.

I own a plasma TV but it does mean that I know how to fix it when it breaks.

The Guru

PS, the picture of the compact 2 is so old that its got the old DAS on the screen.

All works performed by qualified Mercedes-trained personal
I should have said main service, as if a van could run for three years, without service.
The van has been meticulously maintained to and above OEM standards.
All that has been replaced is filters, and wiper blades.
The van is 100% original apart from the above.
Brakes in the front will need replacing due to road damage, and of course fair wear and tear from a gearbox housing that I ran into on the highway, along with one lower ball joint, which means both will have to be replaced.
Lower ball joint there is no way to determine if its wear, or from hitting the said metal object, as there is now 1.3 mil free play?Go figure.
As stated I use the best, it's not a reflection against the services of a local franchise ,but as to the convenience of my right to choice! "As to where to go.
There has never been a warranty issue, the van built by Mercedes-Benz is perfect. And you can bet, I'll buy again. That's all.
Richard

[QUOTE=Altered Sprinter;31323]All works performed by qualified Mercedes-trained personal
Altered,

How can the work be carried out by a Up to date Qualified Mercedes-Benz technician if you have it serviced outside the MB dealer network and I presume they dont have access to a DRB (STAR Tester) So when was the last time they interogated the control modules for faults.

Interested to know as I will take my Sprinter there while down there.

Thanks

The Guru
