Default Boston, MA

Anybody been to Boston? I will be attending eBay Live 2007 in June. It's going to take place at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. I'm looking for hotel but not familiar. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Howdy mgameros -

I've lived in the Boston, MA area for most of my life and would be more than willing to help you with suggestions.

A couple of questions:

1. What hotel suggestions are the eBay Live folks offering?

2. Where is eBay Live being held?

3. What are you looking for in a hotel (ie cheap, fancy, high-rise, bed and breakfast, in the thick of downtown, more suburban or rural (but with a ride in to town likely as a result))?

etc.

Nope (fyi:mgameros Jamaica Plain IS part of Beantown) I've driven by the venue many times (often wondering when the heck they would ever finish it) on my way to Logan Airport.

Ditto what Zach posted. There are tons of places to stay in and around the city. You driving from CA?

MGameros:

When we went to Boston, we stayed in Woburn and took the train into Boston. A lot cheaper and vehicle friendlier than Boston.

I highly recommend, if you have the time, that you take the Duck Tours. We visited the Museum of Science while we waited for our Duck Tour to begin. They park right outside of the museum.

We ran out of time, but I would definitely go back and do the History Self-Guided Walking Tour. Boston is rich in history within such a small area. Hopefully, the Big Dig is done because it was such a big eyesore at the time. I think it was just recently finished.

The "Big Dig" is finished - just stay out of the tunnels (just joking)!

Woburn is a good place to stay and take the train right into North station, in Boston.

I know an uninitiated driver doesn't want to drive a Sprinter around metro Boston for long though!

Hi Zach,

eBay doesn't recomend anything. All I know its going to take place at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. I'm looking for something that is close to all. I'd like to do eBay during the day and maybe go out to a bar at night and have a drink or 2 or 3...:) Have you been to San Francisco, CA? I'd like something like the St Francis or W Hotel. Which I think there 4 or 5 Star.

That's your opinion It will never be "finished" They finally just reopened some of the connecting tunnels. I'm at Logan pretty often and I can tell you you never know what to expect for closures. It was a truely amazing project and a total joke all at the same time.

Anyhow mgameros, you have plenty of time to book, we around here could give you some tips when you are ready.
