Question Help! Loud pop, Oil everywher, but from where

As I was getting onto the freeway I was accelerating under 3/4 throttle when I heard a loud pop from what I assumed at the time was one of the charge air hoses on the cooler. The boost dropped from the 22lbs it was at to -0.7 lbs and it held its speed at 60 mph. I continued to the next exit planning on pulling into a parking lot and re attaching the hose and continuing on. While sitting at the light to turn in the low oil light came on and I rolled down the window to the smell of hot oil. I pull in as quickly as possible and shut it off. When I open the hood there is no oil visible from the top but from under neath it is everywhere, more prominent on the drivers side of the motor/trans. There is very little on/ dripping from the oil pan but the seal is somewhat moist and there is a bit running down the side. The concentration seems to be directly above the cross member , completely covering the trans and everything rearward as I drove. Now as I sit in this parking lot and contemplate what it could be my thoughts are an oil line but why would that affect the boost pressure? So any thoughts as to what it could be and how that is in turn affecting the turbo?

Year and model, too please. Do you by chance have any extended warranty coverage?

Only hope the engine isn't damaged from lack of oil.....

It is a 2008 3500 170 ext dually with 158,000. And unfortunately no warranty as Iím the 3rd owner and the previous owner was missing a few invoices for oil changes and so they wouldnít transfer the coverage.

But live and learn so now that Iím here what do I need to be worried about cleaning along the intake? Iím assuming everything between turbo and intercooler for starters and pull off the return hose on the intercooler to ensure nothing made it that far.

Also what could have caused that? Excessive pressure? A bad bearing?

Thank you in advance

Possibility that the turbo inlet seal was ingested by the turbo.
Is the seal intact?
