Alabama Hills is one of my favorite spots. Can get a bit overrun at times.

My wife and I got married in Death Valley. Everyone gave us endless lip service about it leading up to the wedding. When everyone got out there they said "ohh...oh my god...its beautiful...we get it". Just had to roll our eyes at that point. Amazing that Whitney Portal, Alabama hills and DV are all right there, not to mention the rest of the eastern Sierra.

Definition of a good campsite is one where you can't see or hear other campers.

That's also a good definition of a great place to stop for lunch.

Thanks! I was a cinematographer. Now retired.

In fact, anyone could have shot this, even with a phone. No special skills required.

All you have to do is be there when it looks good. Most good landscape photographs are really weather photographs.
