Default ACR Install/Hot side tap question

Hello Everyone!
Was hoping for some insight as to where to tap into the hot side when joining my Blue Seas ACR between my starting and house batteries?

My Sprinter is an 06 140"

Is the general consensus to run the hot lead all the way to the pos side of the battery under the hood? Or is there a place under the seat that works just as well?
Thanks,
Marc

Yeah just connect it with a fuse to the positive terminal of the starting battery. I have an 05 and used the blue sea acr as well. Here's my post on my installation.

The newer sprinters have a high current attachment point under the seat, t1n does not. Go from the battery, under the fire wall and up through the rubber boot under the driver seat then to wherever you need in the house.

Thanks Dan,
Gotcha, Happy with that, was hoping I didn't have to go over the door down the A pillar, and your suggestion will keep me from that.

Did you end up running the negative all the way up as well?
Thanks,
Marc

Hi Marc,

No I did not run the negative back. I grounded my house battery to the chassis so the vehicle body acts as my return path.

My house battery is near the rear axle. I drilled a 1/4" hole in the vehicle body and ground off all the paint around it to make a nice shiny contact. I put a rivnut and bolt there and attached a wire from the battery negative to this bolt to ground to the chassis.

I haven't had any issues with this approach. Others have chosen to run a return line for various reasons as well.

Dan

Dan,
Ah Ok,
I think I'll do the same, as I am now quite proficient in all things rivnuts, love those things!
Unfortunately, when told, others do not share my enthusiasm, but I like em all the same;)
Thanks again for the help,
Marc

Sounds good. All my blind holes for my conversion are rivnuts or sheet metal screws. No fancy pants L track or plus nuts. My house isn't falling apart. :)
