Default SRS Light - iCarsoft Reset

Hi Everyone, this is my first post on here.

I took my seats off and now my SRS light is on... dealership wants $130 to reset it.

Could I buy an iCarsoft MBII and do it myself?

I have 2016 4 cylinder Mercedes Sprinter 144.

This might be a dumb question, but would doing this on my own void any warranty stuff?

Thanks,

Adam

Resetting the light / clearing the codes has no affect on your warranty. However, you should be sure that light was caused by the seat removal, or you may be getting rid of important information to diagnose the real problem. I don't have a icarsoft, so don't know its capabilities.

Gotcha. It sounds as though thats what it was caused by, but I will definitely investigate. Does anyone have experience using the icarsoft linked above on newer model sprinters? I want to make sure it works for a 2016 before dropping $150....

I'm an MB ll fan and have specificly used it to diagnose (among others) SRS warning. in my case, drivers seat was removed torepair upholstery and seat belt wire was misrouted. MB ll diagnosed it as an "open" on drivers side seat belt. New connector and fault cleared itself after a restart or two. Could have forced a clear with MB ll but didn't need to.

I know it would not connect properly with a 2013, but it did clear a check engine light, I doubt it would clear srs

Adam, I just cleared my SRS fault on my 2016 4 cylinder 144 using the icarsoft MBII, so I would say the answer is yes! Mine was caused by turning on the ignition with the seats removed so there was no question for me on why the fault was there. Your question was from 3 months ago, but for others looking for the same answer, I can confirm it worked for me!
