Default Reverse lights come on in 1st and 2nd gear

The reverse lights stay lit when coming out of reverse and straight into 1st the reverse lights stay on, and also in 2nd if the stick is pressed to the left.

it looks like the reverse switch in the stick is warped and so it gets pressed too early and released too late. I've been looking for a replacement switch (it seems to come with a 20cm or so cable and connector) but other than random Russian sites I can't see one or be sure what the part no is.

Has anyone else had this? should I just go to a dealer and get charged? Would the dealer just do me the part? It looks like the part should be 16 or so.

Go to a dealer and ask the price, at the worst you walk out the door without one! Or maybe phone first and ask the price?

I have found my local dealer to be very fair on pricing and even get discount if I ask for their best price.

PS this should really be in the T1N sub-section as your 2000 Sprinter is actually a T1N!
