overhead Florescent light failure

hello,

Well my florescent overhead light stopped working above the couch area. The other two are working fine. I of course checked the bulbs and they are fine. I can't seem to locate a "starter" or "ballast" to check to see if they have failed. I removed the unit from the ceiling and there is no access to the guts of the light from there. Does this whole unit need replacing or is there a way to repair the light. This is a 2006 Free Spirit model but I'm sure similar light to other LT rigs.

You didn't ask this.

Fluorescent lamps are not cheap to replace, neither are the ballasts. If you find defective components it might be worth exploring a change to LED lights. Cost avoidance by not doing the fluorescent system repair may make the LED cost look ok. LED's aren't forever, but many have an extremely long service life.

I did this on all my florescent lights in my Freespirit. Worth the effort. No more ballasts to go bad and uses much less power.
