Just picked up the 315 from Eurostar Diesels today.
The problem was a blown intercooler and inlet manifold.
This is at 325K km's.
Time to find an ex ambo 316 or 318, I think.

wow how much did that cost to fix?
I just replaced my MAF sensor last week and have not had the van go in limp mode since.

Not much change out of $6k.

I opted for a new inlet manifold $2252, as I didn't have time to find a good 2nd hand one.
New intercooler $745.
Transmission service & engine oil change, coolant flush & other odds & ends while its there.

Otherwise, time to look at 316's & 318's, at the auctions.

what symptoms was the sprinter showing for the mechanic to diagnose that the inlet manifold and inter cooler needed changing?
I believe the 316 and 318 will have simular faults at those klms?

Hi Steve

Oil was leaking from inlet manifold, spraying over the washer bottle & the same with the intercooler.

The intercooler on our other 315 is showing signs of a mild leak, so maybe intercoolers only last 240k to 320k's.

The 316 & 318 inlet manifolds could be different to the 315, without the same plastic parts that break.
