You schooled us on this one. I think the bun warmers are going to have to wait till I have more time to take the seats completely apart but at least now I know it is possible. Thanks again.

D4ve23 - the original seat was 54.5 inches across. The "new" 2-seater is 37 inches wide... 40 inches if you include the armrests in the overall width.

A company in Toronto called Universal Motion does a similar mod. to increase access to rear seats in airport vans etc.

Oh man. This is way way cool. I've been looking for 2 person seat but this factory style one is perfect.

Now I am wondering if I could strategically place them if they happen to fall within a heating element. Excellent write-up.
My 2014 seats had a velcro 1/2" strip glued to the foam, and the matching velcro on the seat center at the seam. When you install bun warmers, this won't mate up anymore, but the seat cover seems to lay flat with no issue. Same for the seat back.

I want to add another row of seats in my 2015 crew. Can anyone tell me if the mounting nuts are in the floor from the factory. Is it possible to just cut the wood floor and place the mounting brackets in place. ???
