Default Re: Trickle Charger for Sprinter Batteries

15 years ago Optima were considered one of the best battery brands for deep-cycle usage
(but i forget which color top was that category)
Since the label on the "blue top" says "dual purpose", that means it's the compromise design: capable of providing starting currents, but also able to handle moderate (versus heavy) deep-discharge cycles.

And what they told you about a 66AH battery being magically the same as a larger one is a bunch of BS too. I would take it back to the dealer and have them put something else in.

+1 but since you were debating doing it yourself, take it back and have them remove the batteries and refund your money. Be sure they give you all the cables. Then order Lifelines, Full River or etc. 6 volt batteries after you determine which will fit.

In an effort to move this discussion to the correct thread, Csmithgator, see this thread for more information on replacement of batteries for TB/IB models, https://sprinter-source.com/forum/sh...hlight=battery. I agree with RV2019, if you want something right you should always Do It Yourself! This Forum usually can provide you with everything you need so you can DIY if you do some research.
