DIY Door Mosquito Net

Howdy all,

I just got finished putting together a mosquito net on the sliding side door, and honestly not sure how I survived without it. It's adapted from an affordable kit on Amazon, and took about an hour to install. Have a gander!

I published the post on my blog, here.

I am planning on making some for myself, using netting and gaffer’s tape.

I’d like to hold them on with magnets. If you’ve done this, what magnets did you use?

I use rectangular shaped magnets purchased at Ace Hardware for this purpose... they are 2" x 1" covered in plastic (so they won't crack). I use them along the sides and in the foot well to hold the netting tight. Just like the OP, I tuck the top of the netting into the top door gasket. A length of 1/8" rope attached to the top of the netting makes it easier to "tuck" it in under the door gasket... rope is attached to the top of the netting using hot-melt glue.

Following what others have done on this forum, I used a standard patio door screen which opens in the middle and is closed with magnets. I also have a similar set-up for the rear doors.
