Propellor shaft noise

Hi all,

When I select drive gear (auto trans) with the brakes on, there is a slight creaking noise at the rear diff as the weight of the shaft applies against the braked rear wheels. Is this an issue? No other symptoms. 315 CDI

Brakes creeping when you go into gear is not a problem. Have we talked about your 315, how many K's has it done. Eric

Hi Eric, it's done 66000 kays. It seems to be a really good engine, drives smoothly, hangs on in the hills, and it does better economy than my car. I was surprised to see reliability experiences of others, but the thread has some good learnings.

The 315 is very nice to drive, it is that high torque that leads to the demise of the engine, most last until about 200 K Eric.
