Front door lock not working after trim removal

I pulled the door trim to replace the speakers as I've seen many do but I'm running into a few problems. Some of the green trim clips stayed attached to the door and they want to break if I try to pull them off to attach them back to the door trim before reinstall.

Also I cannot get the door lock to function. If I push down there is resistance and it doesn't lock. I try to turn the lock with the key and it turns but I can still open the door from the outside. Any help please!

The lock cable has to be in a little clip on the metal door skin from memory, maybe it’s not in properly?
And yes the clips break but are available off eBay quite cheaply.

I had a similar issue with the door lock. I took the door panel off again and was more careful with the locking mechanism on the second try and it worked out just fine.

I played with it a few times then just gave up and put it back together. Didn't work right away but after a few lock/unlock cycles it's back to normal. I will order those clips!!!
