We have used a Scangauge in our Sprinter for as long as we've had the van and consider it an essential accessory. We had an early version that could not read all the engine parameters so I sent it back for an upgrade and Linear Logic offered to pre-program the gauge with the following:

I got the gauge back recently and remounted it on top of the steering column using 3M VHB and an angle bracket that I had heat formed out of 1/16" thick ABS plastic.

First photo below. Gauge with bracket and VHB attached.

Next. Flaming the plastic so VHB would stick better.

Gauge cable routing into space where tilt-wheel lever come out.

Last photo. Final installation as viewed by driver.

Next up will be to get on the road and watch all the newly accessible parameters. I typically watch LOD, coolant temp, battery voltage and boost pressure. Looking forward to seeing if the engine is in regen mode. Which parameter would be best for determining that?

All the best,
Hein

Thanks for the X-Guage codes. I have mine updated to 4.22 with quite a few of the ones you have listed, but not the DPF ash in grams...

Ever since I upgraded the Scanguage with new X-guage codes I have keen to watch for evidence of a regen in process. Last night, Kim and I took the van for a spin and the Diesel Particulate Temp was showing 1650F. Bingo! Let's keep driving... After a few more miles (~15) of interstate driving the temp was back down to more normal 1150F. Regen complete.

Thanks Scanguage!

All the best,
Hein

Hein, Is that on your 2010 Sprinter? I cant get the codes to work on my 2013, and I thought I had heard that pre-2014 engines didnt respond to certain codes.

Cheers,
Greg

Yes, its on our 2010. I sent my older Scanguage in for an update and they did the programming for me. I have been monitoring Upstream DPF Temperature (F).

All the best,
Hein
