Slow but pesky...reading .253 at rest and lose battery charge over time
All fuses check ok disconnected the alternator lead in battery box and reading dropped to .018
Diode?

It's always possible that a regulator diode is shorted so that there'll be current feedback through the alternator's windings.
The alternator is also a "smart" device, so it may be messaging via the LINbus with the ECM or instrument cluster
(so it itself may not be at fault, but removing it may cease the attempt at chit-chat)

On the NCV3 the same wire also feeds the starter, so ever-so-slightly-welded contacts in the solenoid could be at fault.

Is there a test path that you can advise?
Process of elimination is in order...easy first right? Which of the three suggestions would you pursue first? The Linbus sounds overwhelming::wtf:

There are TWO fuses feeding that radio a 20 & 30 amp fuse respectfully.
Have you pulled both?
Dennis
Pulled all fuses one at a time both driver kick panel and driver seat fuse box with no change on the multi-meter
The only change was with the 25amp in the F55/1 #1 position(driver door) amps went up when reinstalled then settled back down to maintain baseline amp reading.
The only drop was when the battery lead to the starter/alternator was removed.

If you can get to the B+ (12v) lead on the alternator, disconnect and see if the current flow stops.
I have a different vehicle than yours, but that is how I found that the alternator was draining the battery.

Getting to the alternator is a challenge
The vehicle has dual ac and the compressor is in the way of access
Anyone know the procedure for alternator swap?
