Sprinter purchase + build plans

Planning out a Sprinter build. Mainly as a motorcycle hauler for track days, dirt riding and some camping.

I'm coming from a Metris, which has been great. But looking for some more space and something with 4x4.

The base will be something as similar as possible to:

cargo
144 wheelbase
high roof
4x4 engine
2500 class
with comfort, comfort plus, premium, premium plus, driver convenience and cargo partition.

Current msrp for the above as a 2019, looks to be ~$52k. But I'm going to hunt for something second hand first. 2017+. Or a leftover 2019 if I can't find anything by the end of the year.

As far as the fit-out is concerned, I really like the look of this:

But without the rooftop tent and a few other pieces.

Since I'm on a fairly tight budget, I'm actually thinking about mirroring the above as close as possible using Adventure Wagons DIY kit:

That would cover the flooring, lining, insulation and wiring. And I would likely put their monk bunk and a row of mule bags on each side of the van.

But I would also need to add the solar panel, addl. battery, roof rack, ladder, diesel heater and many other pieces. So those are things I'm going to either fit myself, or find someone qualified to handle.

I'm also thinking on options to put in an a/c unit in the roof at a later time, and allow shore power connection. I regularly travel with a 3000 watt generator or sit by race tracks which have available power. I likely won't do this until I have had the van for a couple of years, but I'll need to budget any decisions I make now i.e. electrical, so that it's an option in the future.

Well that's it. Just wanted to register intentions, and will let people know how this develops.
