Default 15" Steelies on a 2006 140?

Hi all, I have a 2006 140 2500 and the tires are shot. I was going to get new tires but wanted to clean up and repaint the stock 16" steel wheels before that happens but unfortunately i'm unable to just throw it up on stands. I was considering picking up some used 15" steel wheels with passable tires as temporary rollers. All the threads I've seen talk about upgrading from 15-16 it no mention if downsizing will be an issue. Any guidance if this will be an problem ?

Thanks!

The 16" vans have slightly larger brakes (about 10mm?) They may fit, but I have never seen the swap done that direction. Take a look at your current wheels, is more than 1/2" clearance between the wheel and brake calipers on the front?

Thanks! That's what I was concerned with. I checked and it's iffy. I'll have to get in there with some calipers I think and try to confirm that way. I'm only intending it as a temporary solution pretty much for moving it around the driveway and not traveling on them except maybe to the tire shop. Crossing fingers
