Hi there, just started having a problem with my sprinter gearbox. Was getting sticky but now cant select 5th or 6th gear but can work through 1-4 relatively easy. Reverse is kinda temperamental too.

How does your shift linkage look? Specifically the ball/socket joints on the side of the trans? Free play in the joints or cables can cause issues with gear selection. Have you dropped the trans oil to see what it looks like?
No I haven't had a look yet due to being busy with work but will check those on Saturday. Only started out the blue and deteriorated very quickly so wasnt thinking a wear problem could be the cause. Thought I'd have noticed that progressing slowly
Sounds like one of the plastic parts in your shift linkage may have broken down a bit? Should be able to track it down with some hands-on investigation. You can try a bit of lubricant on the various joints/cables to see if that helps some.
