Just bought a sprinter from a Mercedes van dealer,they changed the oil and filter and MOTD it,I collected it and after thirty mins of driving a message popped up on the dash saying oil level high,if I let the van sit and do the check oil button it says oil level ok,after driving I imagine it expands and goes above the level,is this safe for the engine,and will mobilo come out and drain some oil as part of the service for free?

You are correct. They overfilled it. You need to take some out. OM-642 V6???
The manual says 13.2(?) quarts w/ filter change. About 11 and a half is about right. Cold it should be about mid way between the twomred nubs on the dipper. Hot....really hot....it should be just below the upper nubbin.

If you get it right hot, its easy to check when cold .... Half-way between the nubbins.

A UK spec 313 will be a 4 cylinder so different oil fill quantity to a V6.
My 2004 4 cylinder is only 8.5 litres (~9 US Quarts) from memory, but worth double checking for a 2014.

It seems to take 20 mins of driving before the message actually comes on,so it can't be that much overfilled,it's a bit disconcerning that they're a 24h authorised workshop and can't even fill the oil properly.
