Fridges with High/Low Settings

Hey guys,


I’m going to be using a Goal Zero Yeti 3000 for my battery power supply. I know lithium runs at 10.94V, so this will cause some fridges to turn off, as the power isn’t there. Does anyone know of any fridges that have High/Low voltage shut offs. I like the marine style fridges rather than the chest style.

Anyhow, any recommendations would be great.

10.94V is when the pack is entirely depleted. The almost linear range of voltage (representing capacity) is up to 13.3V.

Agree. If your battery's cells are well bottom balanced they will discharge and all start dropping voltage evenly when nearly empty. However, if they are not bottomed balanced (the more likely scenario) one cell will drop first giving something that looks like:

3.2V +3.2V +3.2V +2.4V = 12.0V

You definitely don't want to keep going down on that low cell.

If you want to set a lower cutoff like 2.0V per cell, then:

3.2V +3.2V +3.2V +2.0V = 11.6V

But that is getting very low indeed!

So, are you guys saying any 12v fridge will work with the Yeti 3000?
