You could judge from my "miracle in the can" that I am skeptic, but we do have high-trained professional on the forum who prize the technology.
Side note- Denis mentioned problems with 6l Powerstroke EGR cooler as carbon-related.
The real issue with Ford is coolant passage clogs. That applies to EGR and to oil coolers.
Yes it does and so does the engine get coked up, done loads of them.
My nearby Ford specialist Bodacious Diesel nearby does more than me !
Give him a call and get the low down on why he uses BG products.
Just don't just take my word for it.

Anyway back to Sprinters, the topic of this thread AND REMEMBER!!!
I post MY experiences on many units repaired not just your own as DIY'r, because it doesn't make you an expert like me doing volume repairs as a business in customer service
So induction cleaners in a can.
This fix in a can business is huge. With enormous amount of money being spent by the DIY motoring public, such as you Kajtek, it makes good business sense to market a can of yum yum to fix what ails your car.
Traditionally BG only made product available to the trade.
Realizing they are losing a significant portion of this DIY business, so they are developing their own DIY purge in a can.
So do these products work ?
Yes they do !
How well do they work ?
Hah ha well that is up to conjecture!
First the original purge liquids by BG were and are still very toxic. Hence the reason for trade use only, and used by trained professionals, thus the restriction
For a can of this purge liquid to be sold to the public, they, the manufacturers have to drop the vital ingredient to comply with consumer laws.
Most likely why you couldn't buy the Liqui Moly purge was due to US laws in product toxicity being Euro market only !
So again does it work ? Well yes but not to my satisfaction.
I use the Pro stuff and the $1500 kit, to totally clean the inlet tracts and not have to resort to scraping and wire brushing the carbon out. This saves us about 4 hours of shop billable time, raises profits and shop efficiency. Hard faced Manchester economic commercial thinking here.
(That is in reference to Manchester UK and the heart of the 18/19th industrial revolution.)
Basically some want comments on this forum. Some want advise, and clearly some want to challenge what I post as not being relevant to those who have different opinions base upon different perspectives, and goals. That is your prerogative, & it makes no difference to me and what I do as a profitable business owner.
To sum up this is what I/We do to repair coking issues. You are free as readers to do whatever you want !
After all all its your vehicle and do what you will to fix YOUR problems.
Dennis.
