stove igniter

One of my stove burners will not ignite. It works fine once lighted with a bbq lighter, just will not spark when I push the igniter button. Is there a source for stove parts? It is evidently a Cramer E2000 which may be owned be Dometic. Any clues will be appreciated. Maybe I just need to clean something. ??

I wonder if its a spark gap issue considering it only affects one side...Both of mine ignite, but the back burner blows out so easy setting a pot on it it's almost unusable. Haven't tackled that issue yet..

You might want to take the silverware drawer out and check to see that a wire to the ignitor has not come loose. I've had this happen several times due to stuff in the drawer sticking up and hitting the wire. Clearance between the wires and crap in the drawers is rather minimal.

We have a different issue with ours: the button itself seems to not engage the mechanism occasionally, like it's slipping, so no resistance or spark is generated. It's getting worse.

Has anyone had this problem and repaired it? And/or do you know what the appropriate spare part would be called?

Many thanks,

Piezo Ignitor (also spelled as igniter or described as ignition).

There are different ones for fridges, water heaters, stove/cooktop/hob, etc.

On a Google search, did not find the specific one for our Dometic Cramer Kombi Sink Hob.

This sink/hob combination one looks similar to ours:

But may have a different electronic ignition versus a Piezo Ignitor. Could also check for a Smev (can't tell whether Cramer and Smev share parts).

Here are a whole bunch but not the right part:

An update: This turned out to be not a big problem. To change the igniter, you need to remove the drawer under the hob:

- Open it and lift the rear of the plastic tray up and slide backwards; you'll now be able to clear the latch and take it out as a unit. Forks etc can stay where they are.
- Remove the two screws on the inside walls of the drawer. It then just slides out. When you re-install, just seat them. Do not tighten or they will catch in the sliders.

The igniter itself is held with a large nut that I was able to unscrew by hand. You need to find a replacement that 1) fits the hole and 2) has both the standard pin at the end and the secondary ground connector -- otherwise the rear burner will not spark.

A local propane shop had -- for 10 Euros -- a "universal 18mm or 22mm piezo" like available at https://www.ebay.de/itm/18mm-or-22m...verselle-Nutzung-Pin-Verbindung-/232645139785 (photo copied here for posterity.) I needed to trim the long secondary connector.

The original is marked RV381 but I was unable to find a replacement that looked like an exact match. (no pun intended!)

Keep cooking,

Ted

I installed one of these after seeing the post above.

A real tight fit. Fits the hole OK, but you have to disconnect the main gas line under the burners and then the individual gas lines to the burners and pop the burner knobs off and undo the nuts holding the valves on. The valve assembly drops down. Then install the igniter and reassemble. I found duct tape wrapped around the old igniter that was holding the second wire to the igniter. Had to put a small push on terminal on that wire to connect it to the new igniter. Your system may be different.

Pauline, in the future, Mike Chang in Seattle, fixed my stove easily, he’s willing to try and fix anything.
