Default Van dies when pushing on brake pedal

2006 Sprinter 2500
Has anyone had a issue with the motor stopping when the brake pedal is pushed. It seems to lose all electrical power. Motor stops. dash lights don't come on for about 5 seconds. Electric windows don't work. Turn key off, and it restarts up. It did this twice two weeks ago, than all was good. Yesterday it did it 6 times in a row. Check engine light came on got b1040-000 code,
b1041-000 CAN communication with the brake system module faulty. Any ideas? Great forum, thanks in advance.

You need to check your tail light assemblies. Theres a short circuit in there somewhere.
