Default Steering Wheel

Hi, the steering wheel on my 98 sprinter is looking very sorry for itself, I want to change it but I have been having trouble finding a decent one. Does anyone know if there is an alternative Mercedes wheel that will fit?

There are usually a few of the original type on ebay, and although mine was in a right mess with some chunks of foam missing in places I decided just to fit a leather cover, from ebay, I think it was about a tenner. Quite easy to fit if you can see to tie knots in thread, comes with suitable needle and thread and instructions (you just lace up the existing stitching, there is no need to actually force a needle through leather or anything like that).

If you are set on a replacement maybe search for dashboard trim in google, there are a few places that supply fake walnut insert panels and similar, which might have alternative pattern steering wheels?

Funny story, had a nissan senra 4 banger diesel. What gem, anyways bought a lace on steering cover. One day it came untied and turne a corner, ripped off the turn signal arm then the wiper arm all in one turn, to sad had too laugh. It had a tiny head gasket leak and for one year before it let loose I was getting 67 miles pet gallon hwy and 50 in the city. After repair it went back to regular mileage.
