"Collapsed" radiator hose

In two different occasions after returning from long trips I noticed the radiator hose ( coolant reservoir to radiator) is partly collapsed - not cylindrical. Both times it returns to its original shape after I remove the reservoir cap when engine is cool.
Obviously a vacuum is created inside. Is this normal?
Thanks.

No it's not normal but can be a common issue as to multiple reasons of a compressed hose
Run a Vacuum test-on radiator for pressure and temperatures plus Testing for internal leaks coolant level under pressure.
Pics depicted at not hooked up for obvious reasons so shown as an example only ..I use ABV Cooling System Analyzers since the early seventies.

With ignition on check temperature sensors for a direct test induction point test. Niod Lighting test for open and closed circuits, during operation as temperature rise and fall.

How old is the coolant.
are there any strong acidic coolant odors, once engine turned off.
Checks for fluid leaks around engine, radiator tell tale coolant leak-offs, air con, front and rear.
Either it's a leak or you need professional diagnostic support, from a radiator shop.
