Tilting back seat mod issue

We removed the 6 bolts on the back seat to allow the seat to fold forward. All works as expected, and certainly allows for much easier access for storage.

The question is the two bottom corners of the fabric, where they lay until the metal brackets, rub every time the seat is folded and put back, resulting in the fabric starting to wear through. I temporarily put some strong tape over the two spots, but wondering if others have the same issue, and have come in with a good solution, for this issue.

Not an issue for me; there is enough slack in my fabric so there is little wear.

Here is a photo of the damage happening. The fabric rubs against the bracket when tilted forward or back.

If others do not have this same issue, perhaps there is a slight tolerance difference in our bench.

We reinstalled the bolts. Too bad.

Have not personally used, but search for things like "furniture defender" for cats on Amazon. Here's a website on protecting corners of upholstered furniture.

Mine does the same thing - IE: binding and gradually cutting through the fabric...
