Westfalia Logos

1. NAFTA Westy Logos

Our Westy uses the name and lettering in caps "WESTFALIA" in conjunction with a prancing horse.

The style/font of the characters is interesting (and maybe not consistent), with rounded corners instead of right angles in the letters as well as slants.

If one removes the bathroom sink cabinet (and other cabinets), one will often see tape strapping with the words "WESTFALIA" and the additional words "Van Conversion."

The WESTFALIA Van Conversion with prancing horse was apparently trademarked by Daimler Chrysler, then the trademark abandoned:

The "Van Conversion" lettering may be the same or contrasting color as the "WESTFALIA" lettering.

At least one Westy owner incorporated the full logo with "Van Conversion" to abide by HOA rules.

On our Westies, the logo (without Van Conversion) appears on the front fiberglass top and rear fiberglass top--like plastic stickons.

In addition, the rear side graphics of the fiberglass top also incorporate the logos (without Van Conversion) in the graphic stripes.

2. Current Westfalia Logo

Westfalia abandoned the prancing horse logo (too much confusion with certain faster vehicles?), and adopted a compass rose with the company name on top.

3. James Cook Logos

The James Cook model of our vintage (2004-2005) had a unique compass rose and James Cook logo added to the front doors.

They may also have had a partial compass rose on the passenger rear door (need to confirm).

Several Westy owners have added the James Cook emblems on their Westies, courtesy of the James Cook Friends Forum administrator during his tours of the USA.

They can also sometimes be found on the German ebay.

4. Airstream Logos

Airstream lettering appeared above the windshield (one early prototype had the Airstream letter at the front of the fiberglass top), on the rear side bodies and the rear fiberglass top.

Airstream used at least two and maybe more styles for the "AIRSTREAM" lettering.

The original lettering was simple chrome?

Later lettering was chrome with a blue shadow.

5. Dodge Sprinter and 2500

"DODGE" name in chrome appears on the rear driver door above license plate on the indentation.

"Sprinter" name in chrome appears on the rear passenger side door.

"2500" in chrome designation appears on the indentation on front doors.

Dodge Ram logo appears on hood and the hubcaps.

6. Airstream Numbering

Airstream trailers usually have very large numbers on the top rear. One Westy owner also has similar numbers on the rear of their Westy.
