Mod: Retrofit Heated Seats

OldWest

2004 T1N Westfalia
The earlier Westies had heated front seats.

Our front seats are not standard Sprinter seats but are made by ISRI (the Sprinter build sheets show our Sprinters ordered without front seats). But the features of the ISRI seats are generally like a Sprinter front seat (e.g., lumbar air pump, adjustments, etc.)., but different shape, both sides with armrests, swivel, etc.

The control switches for the heating features are Mercedes switches and are in the same place as the central locking switch.

Don't know why later Westies did not have this heating feature.

On the James Cook Friends forum, a poster (of a much earlier James Cook?) posted a pdf file on how to retrofit hearing into the front seats.

The pdf file does not open for me. The poster used Waeco MSH-300 seat heating elements (Waeco is part of Dometic).

Here's a link to the Waeco heating kit.
